Erol Taranto began his business career in 1979 and spent over five years with Philipp Brothers (Phibro) in Turkey. In 1985, he became a founding member of Ormet, contributing significantly to the development and expansion of the company, a major supplier of industrial raw materials since its establishment. 

Erol is a seasoned expert in international raw materials trading, with deep experience across key sectors including iron and steel, petrochemicals, solid fuels, industrial minerals, and select soft commodities such as sugar and cocoa. 

Over more than four decades in the industry, he has built and maintained a strong global network spanning Latin America to Australia and remains actively engaged in international commodity and financial markets. 

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from 9 Eylul University, Izmir
